Το project πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο του φετινού incubator for local media του iMEdD.
About two months ago, a different cycle of the iMEdD incubator came to a close — the first one designed exclusively for journalists from Greece’s local press.
This initiative aimed to strengthen the culture of collaboration, with key challenges including the requirement for joint reporting teams and the participation of at least two journalists from different local media outlets and geographic regions. The goal was to create space for stories that connect local communities, yet often remain invisible due to a lack of time and resources.
Three teams made up of journalists from Thessaloniki, Ioannina, Kozani, Xanthi, Trikala, and Chania succeeded in bridging distances, highlighting local issues within a broader context, and proving that collaborative investigative journalism can transcend the boundaries of major urban centers.
In an era defined by new technologies and changing audience habits — which present ongoing challenges — collaboration is emerging not just as a solution, but as a force for renewal. It brings fresh energy and value to journalism, enabling access to multiple sources and in-depth exploration of underreported issues.
In that context, iMEdD recognizes the power of voices from every corner of Greece and once again offered ten fellowships to journalists working in Greek local or regional media. These fellowships provide an opportunity to participate in the iMEdD International Journalism Forum, connect with peers from around the world, expand their knowledge, and find inspiration for future reporting projects.
